This week's Wyvern Fighter Team of the Week is the 31st Operations Group 56th Rescue Squadron Intelligence Team! Capt. Thomas "RUDI" Thompson, SSgt. Erik Davis and SrA Meshell Johnson demonstrated the strength of team communication during the past week when the 56th RQS Intel Team instructed 36 aircrew and support personnel on emerging threats, enemy tactics and conflicts in the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) Area of Responsibility. They conducted in-person classified briefs for 58 personnel across eight AFSCs, unclassified knowledge wall updates, side-by-side sit downs with individual aircrew as well as various digital products. The intel team highlighted developments that would enable mission success for the 56th RQS.
Additionally, from May 2 through May 6 the intel team tracked and documented significant activity in the Russian invasion of Ukraine to include fighter intercepts, surface-to-air missile launches and air-to-surface attacks as the primary intelligence focus. Lastly, the intel team gave a brief to the squadron highlighting threat factors in the #blacksearegion over the upcoming weeks, directly preparing our team to answer any call that may come.
