    Lt. Col. Matthew Miller, deputy commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District, updates Florida Depratment of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Commissioner Nikki Fried on current conditions around Lake Okeechobee as Hurricane Ian prepares to make landfall Sept. 28, 2022. Lt. Col. Miller is the USACE liaison Officer to the Florida State Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee. As Hurricane Ian threatened Florida, hundreds of military, civilian and contractor personnel are deployed to help the state recover as quickly as possible.
