U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Christopher Gallant, UH-60M Black Hawk Pilot and Mission Planner for Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 142nd Aviation Regiment, Assault Helicopter Battalion, attached to 36th Combat Aviation Brigade (right), along with Chief Warrant Officer 2 Christopher Hansen, UH-60M Black Hawk Pilot and Aviation Mission Survivability Officer for Alpha Company, 3-142nd AHB (left), conducts start-up procedures of a UH-60M Black Hawk at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, Sept. 21, 2022. Gallant and his crew surveyed landing zones at night in the vicinity of Camp Buehring during their flight. The flights are conducted at different parts of the day to familiarize the crew with landing zones in a low lighting setting and the proper usage of low illumination equipment, such as the Night Vision Goggles seen on Gallant’s flight helmet. 3-142nd AHB, attached to 36th CAB, currently supports the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve across the Middle East.
