U.S. Army Sgt. Mirza Dzinic and Sgt. Dillon Tonne, crew chiefs for Alpha Company and Bravo Company of 3-142nd Assault Helicopter Battalion (AHB), based out of Latham and Ronkonkoma, NY, and natives of Utica, NY, and Ronkonkoma, respectively, spray paint a main rotor blade of a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, Sept. 8, 2022. The spray paint is protective and prevents corrosion from the fine and heavy sand of the Middle East. 3-142nd AHB, attached to 36th Combat Aviation Brigade, currently supports the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve mission to advise, assist, and enable partnered forces in the enduring defeat of Da'esh, the common Arabic term for IS or ISIS, within designated areas of Iraq and Syria.
