A 45-foot medium response boat piloted by a female service member heads to Lake Michigan in front of District Nine Coast Guard Station St. Joseph, on the mouth of the St. Joseph River in Michigan. The station has been in the same location since 1874. The brick building in the background was formerly the 9th District Armory Depot.
