A U.S. Soldier attempts to successfully operate a FMG-148 Javelin to earn the U.S. Army Expert Soldier Badge (ESB), Sept. 1, 2022, in Vilsek, Germany. The ESB is a U.S. Army special skills badge awarded to all Soldiers, noncommissioned officers, warrant officers, and commissioned officers-except those in the Infantry, Special Forces and Medical career management fields-that demonstrate individual soldier competencies and abilities to perform tough, realistic and mission-focused skill level 1 Warrior Tasks and brigade commander-selected tasks.
