The Coast Guard's Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT) from Chesapeake, Va., participates in a training evolution in Hyannis, Mass. The highly trained and specialized team used a real-world underway ferry to practice tactical boardings-at-sea, active shooter scenarios, and detection of radiological material. MSRTs are a short-notice, threat-tailored, maritime response force designed to deter, protect against, and respond to threats of maritime terrorism and to higher-risk criminal law enforcement threats on the water or in a port.
