PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 29, 2022) - U.S. Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 362 (Reinforced) exit a CH-53E Super Stallion onto the flight deck aboard amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), Aug. 29. The mobility and sustainability provided by amphibious platforms enable the Navy-Marine Corps team to extend the reach of our capabilities. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), is underway conducting integrated training operations with the 13th MEU in the U.S. 3rd Fleet to prepare for an upcoming deployment. (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Sgt. Brendan Custer)
