    Commander Jonny "DOZER" Kane, a native of Maine, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2006 where he was a varsity wrestler for four years and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and a commission as an Ensign in the United States Navy.

    Following graduation, he reported to Naval Air Station Pensacola and Naval Air Station Whiting Field, Florida for flight school completing his training in VT-2 and HT-18 where he received his “Wings of Gold” and designation as a Naval Aviator (Pilot) in 2009. In the spring of 2009, Kane reported to the MH-60S Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) in San Diego, California where he completed his initial fleet training with the “Merlin’s” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Three (HSC-3).

    Cmdr. Kane’s operational sea duty assignments include deployments with the HSC-25 Island Knights of Guam. His first deployment consisted of flying MEDEVAC in Iraq with the 2515th Naval Air Ambulance Detachment (NAAD). Upon qualifying as Helicopter Aircraft Commander, he deployed aboard the USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE-7) and Amelia Earhart (T-AKE-6) supporting the USS George Washington Strike Group’s deployment. Kane’s second sea tour with HSC-14 aboard the John C. Stennis (CVN 74) included department head duties serving as the Safety Officer, Training Officer and the Maintenance Officer.

    Kane’s shore duty assignments included one tour with the “Factory Hands” of HT-18 in Milton, Florida as a Helicopter Flight Instructor, Aviation Safety Officer, and TH-57 Bravo Program Manager for Training Wing Five encompassing three squadrons. Following his instructor tour, Kane was selected as Aide-de-Camp for the Chief of Staff at NATO Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia where he served as an Aide for two years.

    Kane has amassed over 2,900 flight hours in 3 aircraft. His personnel awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (1 award) and various Service and Unit awards.

    Married to the beautiful Camren they have four wonderful children. Fishing, hunting, and the outdoors fills the Kane family weekends. While off the mat for a number of years, DOZER can still throw a headlock with the best of them.
