U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Daniel Lewis, a logistics chief with Combat Logistics Battalion 4, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, fires an M4 carbine during a table five and six range at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Aug 28, 2022. Lewis, a native of Daytona Beach, Florida, graduated from Triton Regional High School In 2012 and enlisted out of Recruiting Substation South New Jersey in 2014. The purpose of the training was to improve the Marines’ ability to operate their rifles at close quarters and in low-visibility environments more effectively. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III MEF’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
