Langley Research Center's IBM SP-2 HPCCP testbed computer called Poseidon is a 4P-node system with RS/6000 model 590 nodes. Each node has a minimum of 128 Mbytes memory and 2 Gbytes of disk. The machine has a theoretical maximum speed of 13 GFLOP/s (13 million floating point operations per second). It is used for research into new parallel algorithms for computational aerosciences
