U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Robert Meyers, an avionics mechanic from Marine Air Logistics Squadron 11, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, detains someone while experiencing the effects of oleoresin capsicum spray during security augmentation force training on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, Aug. 24, 2022. After getting sprayed, the Marines run through a course consisting of reporting procedures, self-defense, detainment procedures, and deterring potential threats. SAF plays a pivotal role in the protection of MCAS Miramar and 3rd MAW personnel, aircraft, and assets, reinforcing the teamwork and cooperation between the two commands and enabling 3rd MAW to provide aviation support to I Marine Expeditionary Force and Marine Air Ground Task Force operations.
