PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug 5, 2022) – A CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 465, prepares to land on the flight deck aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), August 5. The ability to operate seamlessly and simultaneously on the sea, ashore, and in the air, represents the unique value of amphibious capability provided by the ARG/MEU team. John P. Murtha, part of amphibious squadron (CPR) SEVEN, along with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is currently underway conducting integrated training in U.S. 3rd Fleet to prepare for an upcoming deployment.
