Petty Officer 2nd Class Micheal Rhue , a Marine Science Technician at Coast Guard Sector-Maryland National Capital Region, works with a crew member aboard the Auto Eco to check for pyrotechnic visual distress signals on the ships emergency lifeboat during an inspection, Aug. 18,2022 at the Port of Baltimore. The Auto Eco is required to have a maintained emergency lifeboat in case an emergency requires the crew to quickly abandon the vessel and pyrotechnic visual distress signals provide the ability to signal for assistance if necesarry.
