A U.S. Marine assigned to Aviation Combat Element, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), guides an MV-22 Osprey landing during a training event with Finnish soldiers from the Force Protection Brigade on Makiluoto Island, Finland, Aug. 16, 2022. The training was part of a bilateral exercise between the Finnish military and 22nd MEU. The Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and 22nd MEU, under the command and control of Task Force 61/2, is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
