USAID Acting Assistant Administrator for the Middle East Bureau, Andrew Plitt, had a great trip to the Red Sea Governorate, Egypt in July 2022. He visited the Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA) complex, the Red Sea Diving Safari in Marsa Alam, and Wadi El Gemal National Park to learn about USAID support for environmental preservation and sustainable tourism in the Red Sea.
USAID and HEPCA have worked together for three decades to protect natural resources and educate Egyptians and tourists on the importance of environmental conservation efforts.
