Nick Van Wagoner, executive officer of the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6), from Annapolis, Maryland, stands on the bridge wing as Jackson sails in formation with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Murasame-class destroyer, JS Kirisame (DD 104) during a bilateral exercise in the Philippine Sea, July 23.
