The Minnesota National Guard and Region IV Soldier of the Year, Spc. Nathaniel Miska, a carpentry and masonry specialist with 850th Engineer Company and Noncommissioned Officer of the Year, Sgt. Richard Carlson, a health care specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Battalion, 94th Cavalry Regiment prepare to being the survival swim event at Middle Tennessee University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, July 25, 2022 as part of the National Best Warrior Competition. Miska and Carlson placed first in both the Minnesota and Region IV Best Warrior Competition, securing their spot in this National Competition.
