220707-M-WC972-1240 MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII, Hawaii (July 7, 2022) U.S. Marines assigned to Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Air-Ground Task Force 7, show Soldiers of the Australian Army how to adjust the M224 60mm lightweight mortar system tube during a foreign weapons familiarization with the Australian Army, the Malaysian Marine Corps, Chilean Marine Corps, Mexican Naval Infantry, Indonesian Marine Corps, and Royal Tongan Marines during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022, on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, July 7, 2022. Twenty-six nations, 38 ships, four submarines, more than 170 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC 2022 from June 29 to Aug. 4 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC 2022 provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
