In a ceremony held at the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade Headquarters, Camp Taji, Iraq, Maj. Gen. James E. Simmons, Multi-National Corps-Iraq, deputy commanding general for support, presented Col. Timothy Edens, 12th CAB Commander with the Air Medal for his actions, on Nov. 29. Edens was flying an AH-64 D Apache Helicopter as part of a two aircraft air weapons team and was called to support a Stryker platoon in contact.
