220617-N-LI114-1203 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 17, 2022) Naval Air Crewman (Mechanical) 2nd Class Makenna L. Doherty, from Chicago, assigned to the Providers of Fleet Logistics Squadron (VRC) 30 deployed aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) stows gear in a C-2A Greyhound after parachute insertion operations during Exercise Valiant Shield 2022 (VS22). VS22 is a U.S.-only, biennial field training exercise (FTX) focused on integration of joint training in a multi-domain environment. This training builds real-world proficiency in sustaining world forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
