220617-N-LI114-1160 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 17, 2022) Members of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Five, attached to Commander, Task Force 70, deployed aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) parachute from a C-2A Greyhound attached to the Providers of Fleet Logistics Squadron (VRC) 30 during parachute insertion operations during Exercise Valiant Shield 2022 (VS22). VS22 is a U.S.-only, biennial field training exercise (FTX) focused on integration of joint training in a multi-domain environment. This training builds real-world proficiency in sustaining world forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
