220616-N-LI114-1163 YIGO, Guam (June 16, 2022) Members of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Five, attached to Commander, Task Force 70, deployed aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) move a motor into an inflatable boat during preparation for parachute insertion operations during Exercise Valiant Shield 2022 (VS22). VS22 is a U.S.-only, biennial field training exercise (FTX) focused on integration of joint training in a multi-domain environment. This training builds real-world proficiency in sustaining world forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
