U.S. Army Sgt. Luis Renteria, a communication systems operator-maintainer assigned to the 86th Expeditionary Signal Battalion based out of Fort Bliss, Texas, utilizes a compass to find the directions in which the map is facing, during the III Armored Corps Best Squad Competition 2022, on Fort Hood, Texas, June 23, 2022. In this land navigation event, soldiers are tasked with finding a location using a map while exercising noise discipline. The III Armored Corps pulled only the best from across its divisions and separate brigades to compete in this year’s inaugural competition.
