CARIBBEAN SEA (June 14, 2022) Mineman 2nd Class Kevin Carpenter, assigned to the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Billings (LCS 15), dresses out in firefighting equipment with the assistance of French sailors to combat a simulated fire on French patrol vessel La Résolue (P734) as part of a Rescue and Assistance drill during exercise Caraibes 2022, June 14, 2022. Caraibes 2022 is a French led, combined and joint training exercise in the Caribbean involving naval, air and land assets. This multi-national exercise aims to promote cooperation among regional forces and their collective ability to successfully provide humanitarian assistance/disaster relief (HADR) in response to a natural disaster.
