ZUSHI, Japan (June 21, 2022) — Capt. Rich Jarrett, Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY), speaks with Satoru Kirigaya, the Mayor of Zushi City, about “kintsugi,” which is a way of repairing chipped pottery by mending the broken areas with lacquer dusted or powdered gold, during Jarrett’s courtesy call to Zushi City Hall prior to his departure from Yokosuka. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of U.S. 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
