220616-N-DW158-1057 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 16, 2022) Aviation Ordnanceman 1st Class Justin Gonzalez, from New York, assigned to the Diamondbacks of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 102, watches an F/A-18F Super Hornet launch from the flight deck of the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during Valiant Shield 2022 (VS22). VS22 is a U.S.-only, biennial field training exercise (FTX) focused on integration of joint training in a multi-domain environment. This training builds real-world proficiency in sustaining world forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
