SAN DIEGO (June 15, 2022) The crew of the Lewis B. Puller-class expeditionary mobile base USS John L. Canley (ESB 6) held a memorial service to honor the ship’s namesake. Sgt. Maj. Canley, United States Marine Corps (Ret.), who passed away May 11, 2022, was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic service during the 1968 Battle of Hue.
