Brig. Gen. Niave Knell, Command Sgt. Maj. Alber Serrano and Fort Riley Spouse of the Year Monica Bassett threw the ceremonial first pitch on June 11 at the Junction City Brigade baseball game in Junction City, Kansas. The throwing of the first pitch served as part of the Brigade’s Military Appreciation Day. Knell then presented a bat from the 1st Infantry Division to Jeff Underhill, Mayor Junction City and Brandon Bachar the Junction City Brigade Manager, to show their continued partnership with Fort Riley.
