MALAKAL PORT, Palau (June 10, 2022) Sailors assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1 and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 11 conduct surveys of derelict vessels in Malakal Port in Palau as part of an Expeditionary Port Damage Repair Opening (ExPDRO) Joint-Force Proof of Concept in support of Exercise Valiant Shield 2022. Exercises such as Valiant Shield allow the Indo-Pacific Command Joint Forces the opportunity to integrate forces from all branches of service to conduct precise, lethal, and overwhelming multi-axis, multi-domain effects that demonstrate the strength and versatility of the Joint Force and our commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
