PHILIPPINE SEA (June 9, 2022) An member of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5 fast-ropes from an MH-60S helicopter attached to the “Golden Falcons” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 12, assigned to Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), to the flight deck of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) during a Helicopter, Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (HVBSS) exercise. Benfold is assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
