Staff Sgt. Joe Mahn of the Oregon National Guard 102nd Civil Support Team (CST) used a radiological detector on a mock suspected vehicle during the Joint CBRN Characterization, Exploitation, and Mitigation Course (JCCEM) on June 9, 2022, in Stayton, Ore.
The training partners consisted of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Team, United States Department of Energy Radiological Assistance Team Region 8, Oregon State Police Bomb Squad, Portland Police Department Bomb Squad, Eugene Bomb Squad, and the Washington National Guard 10th CST. The JCCEM training was provided by Eniwetok Group, LLC (EGL). The participants were placed in multi-agency teams and sent to investigate mock simulated Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) situations. The group would then work through a solution to address the hazards.
