U.S. Marines with Detachment Martillo load a UH-1N "Huey" helicopter on an Air Force C-5 "Galaxy" at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City Oct. 12, 2012, en route back to the United States. The task-organized detachment partnered with Guatemala authorities to disrupt illicit trafficking in the country's coastal waters. With four Huey's, Detachment Martillo flew over 250 detection and monitoring missions in support of Guatemalan law enforcement agencies and naval forces during the roughly two-month deployment. "We saw an immediate impact in trafficking patterns along established routes after we started flying our helos," said Col. Rob Rauenhorst, the Detachment Martillo officer-in-charge.
