Lt. Col. Bobby Mallicoat, 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment commander, uses a Normatech leg compression machine after completing part of a Murphy Challenge held at Patton Stadium May 26, 2022. The machine inflates pockets of air in the leg cuffs to help rid the body of lactic acid buildup and sooth sore muscles. The Murph Challenge, consisting of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and a final one-mile run, is a physically strenuous challenge. To ensure the health of the Soldiers and civilians participating in the challenge, the 165th Infantry Brigade’s fitness company offered the use of the leg compressors, percussion guns, hydrating performance drinks and health snacks.
