220530-N-GN523-1039 PHILIPPINE SEA (May 30, 2022) Machinist’s Mate Fireman Apprentice David Navarro, from San Antonio, logs recordings in the aft oxygen-nitrogen low pressure air compressor room of the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). One of the capabilities of Ronald Reagan’s producer room is to convert oxygen gas into liquid, providing pilots with breathable air during flight operations. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
