U.S. Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24), conduct an offload of gear, vehicles and troops in preparation for exercise EFES 2022, Turkey, May 27, 2022. EFES22 is an international Combined Joint Live-Fire Exercise focused on increasing force readiness, promoting stability and prosperity in the region, and interoperability between the U.S., Turkey, and Allied Nations. The 22nd MEU is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., Allied and Partner interests.
