LOS ANGELES (May 25, 2022) – U.S. Navy Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 2nd Class Fernando Vera, from Fairfield, Calif., assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD2), moves a mattress at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House during a community relations event as part of Los Angeles Fleet Week (LAFW) May 25, 2022. LAFW is an opportunity for the American public to meet their Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard teams and experience America's sea services. During fleet week, service members participate in various community service events, showcase capabilities and equipment to the community, and enjoy the hospitality of Los Angeles and its surrounding areas.
