The American Red Cross of Louisiana Summer Youth Program kicked off at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk, Louisiana on May 23. The six week program allows high school students ages 13-17 the opportunity to experience working in a medical setting. This year six volunteers will serve in a variety of roles in the hospital’s labor and delivery and staff education departments, the mixed medical surgical ward and the women’s clinic. Picture from left to right are the children of Active Duty Soldiers, retirees and Department of the Army civilian employees from across the installation: Kourtly Reed, Makayla Goody, Leanna Buchanan, Jasmine Tatum, Ciamoni Gerbier and Arielle Martinez
