    Runners make their way up Hospital Hill as they participate in the Marine Corps Marathon Historic Half race in Fredericksburg, Virginia, May 22, 2022. Hospital Hill is a 0.53 mile segment of the 13.1 mile course located in the middle of a 2 mile uphill climb. It stretches over 930 yards in which elevation doubles from 100 feet to 200 feet, or the equivalent of climbing to the top of a ten story building. The Historic Half is a 13.1 mile race drew roughly 4,000 participants to promote physical fitness, generate goodwill in the community, and showcase the organizational skills of the Marine Corps.
