U.S. Reconnaissance Marines with Maritime Raid Force (MRF), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conduct mission planning during a jungle sustainment training exercise at Jungle Warfare Training Center, Okinawa, Japan, May 12, 2022. The Marines conducted reconnaissance and patrols, validating Expeditionary Advanced Based Operations (EABO) concepts. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
