Oregon Army National Guard Sgt. Maj. Tasha Cruz with the 234th Army Band, and the newly appointed command sergeant major of 821st Troop Command Battalion, poses with Sgt. Maj. Joseph Worely, former National Guard Music Deputy, at her change of responsibility ceremony on May 14, 2022, at the Salem Armory Auditorium. Cruz is the second ban member to reach the rank of sergeant major and the first female Soldier from the 234th Army Band to reach the rank. Worely was the first member of the band to achieve the rank of sergeant major.
