    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Ciera Gomez, a data systems administrator, and Sgt. Marc Arrigo, an explosive ordinance disposal technician, both assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), prepare a blood transfusion during a Valkyrie training exercise on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, May 12, 2022. The Valkyrie Program prepares Marines to assist U.S. Navy corpsmen with blood transfusion and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) for a casualty in critical condition. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
