John Brennan, the commander of Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, at a counter-terrorism conference in Baghdad, Iraq, May 9, 2022. The counter-terrorism conference brought together key leaders from the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior, Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the Kurdistan Regional Government Ministry of Peshmerga to discuss enhancing joint planning, coordination and collaboration between all counter-terrorism elements in support of the shared goal of defeating terrorism. Leaders from the U.S.-led Coalition to defeat Daesh participated in the event as part of their mission to advise, assist and enable Partner Forces to ensure the enduring defeat of Daesh.
