    USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76)

220511-N-YX844-1008 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 11, 2022) Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Recruit Sothrith Pou, from Long Beach, California, releases the housing stopper from under the starboard anchor chain in the forecastle of the U.S. Navy’s only forward deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ronald Reagan’s anchor chains were originally used aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger and each link weighs approximately 350 pounds. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
