Marc Lederer (left), MSC Deputy Commander, presided over the ceremony. Carmon said she is proud to be a Strategic Sealift Officer. Born and raised in Greenville, N.C., Carmon is a 2018 graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. She has a bachelor's degree in marine engineering and holds a second assistant engineer's license.
