U.S. Marines Cpl. Jason Hicks (left), Lance Cpl. Austin Martin (center), and Cpl. Michael Stewart, all infantryman with the Cherokee Raiders, Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 1/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), receive champion t-shirts after winning BLT 1/5’s Savage Games Competition held on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan April 22, 2022. All of the winners of the games are with the Cherokee Raiders, BLT 1/5, 31st MEU. BLT 1/5 held the Savage Games in order to build unit cohesion and push the limits of the individuals in their command. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
