SILVERDALE, Wash. (May 2, 2022) – U.S. Navy Capt. Robert Figgs, commanding officer, Trident Refit Facility, Bangor (TRFB), listens as welding supervisor trainer Rodney Madsen briefs him on the current projects the welding shop is working on. Each week, TRFB leadership visits a different production area to meet employees and Sailors, giving them an opportunity to fix issues directly or to be made aware of challenges to overcome. TRFB’s core mission is to support our nation’s strategic deterrent by repairing, incrementally overhauling, and modernizing Pacific Fleet SSBNs during refits. This includes executing refits, voyage repair periods, and TRIDENT Planned Equipment Replacement Program component refurbishments. In addition, TRFB performs miscellaneous I-Level submarine work, executes work assigned to the Optical, Air Compressor Regional Repair Centers, and AN/BPS-16 Radar Depot, and trains Sailors.
