Pvt. Anthony Muller (left), and Spc. Nijjwal Schrestha, 491st Headquarters, Santa Fe, New Mexico, take a break during a search and rescue training exercise, held at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, April 29. Muller, a supply specialist, and Schrestha, a culinary specialist, assisted medics in removing medical equipment from simulated casualties following chemical decontamination. The training was part of Guardian Response 22, a multicomponent Homeland Emergency Response Exercise run by the Army Reserve’s 78th Training Division, and tested search and rescue team abilities to respond to real-world, state-side catastrophes, such as explosions, hurricanes, fires and floods.
