SAN DIEGO (April 28, 2022) – Information System Technician 2nd Class Gage Hanby works on a fan fire attached to the antenna while aloft aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), April 28. The term “aloft” refers to anywhere 15 feet or higher, where a harness is required, and houses most of a ship’s radar equipment.
