PACIFIC OCEAN (April 27, 2022) – Sailors remove the chain stopper from an anchor chain in the foc’sle during an anchor drop test aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), April 27. Boatswain’s Mates conduct, direct, supervise and train ship handling, anchoring, mooring and towing operations, cargo handling, lifesaving equipment handling and related equipment maintenance.
